São Paulo, August 21, 2021 – PUCRS Online, the online education platform of the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul (PUCRS), powered by UOL EdTech’s technology and expertise, is offering the free 100% online course “Certification in Leadership, Learnability, and Resilience.” The sessions will feature Malala Yousafzai, the youngest Nobel Peace Prize laureate, and will take place on August 23 and 25.

At just 24 years old, Malala Yousafzai exemplifies the transformative power of education. Surviving an attack for defending girls’ right to attend school in her home country of Pakistan, she has since graduated from Oxford University and become a leading global advocate for women’s education and human rights. “Education can truly transform an individual’s life. And when it comes to girls’ lives, the impact of education is enormous, especially in patriarchal societies facing misogyny, where opportunities are limited simply because of gender,” she states. Her participation on August 23 will be in a talk-show format (with translation), focusing on the role of education in personal and professional development.

Renata Bernardon, PUCRS’s Director of Continuing Education, highlights the university’s commitment to offering transformative learning experiences. “Malala has made a profound contribution to the history of global education, and hosting her for another PUCRS Online course reinforces our commitment to providing learning experiences that bring together renowned figures and PUCRS’s academic excellence. This will be a timely moment to discuss social transformations through education, such as democratization and expanded access,” she affirms.

All participants will receive a PUCRS certificate upon course completion. Registration is open until August 22. Access the course here.

In addition to the topics covered with Malala’s participation, those who register can customize their course by choosing the instructor for the second session on August 25. There are two options: Leandro Karnal, one of the leading thinkers of today, who will discuss “Learnability for Personal and Professional Development,” and Flávio Augusto, one of Brazil’s most admired leaders, who will address “Leadership, Learnability, and Entrepreneurship.”

PUCRS Online’s approach and methodology are trailblazing within Brazil’s 100% online postgraduate and MBA course offerings. Its portfolio spans specialization programs across all fields, featuring renowned national and international instructors.
